Let's Work Together to Stop the Spread of COVID-19

The Challenge

Digital manufacturing provides incredible speed of development and is extremely important in equipping frontline staff with solutions that meet immediate requests. Based on our expertise in industrial manufacturing processes, we here demonstrate two solutions of the injection molding technique that would ramp up the production capacity of facebands for the fight against COVID-19.

Solution (A)

Our company has designed 3D printed injection mold inserts (3DPIM):
- Recommended materials for 3D printed molds: high temperature polymers (3D printed mold needs to sustain the molten polymer being injected at high temperature and high pressure).
- Recommended 3D printing technology: SLA (FDM & SLS could be used as alternatives, however post processing and special printing settings for cavity surface finishing are required).
- By the end of each cycle, mold inserts need to cool down by pressurized air to maximize 3DPIM lifetime.
- The final product can be cooled with cold water (optional).

Solution (B)

Our company has designed a multiple cavity injection mold for face shields production. We have a great deal of expertise in this field and we are open to meet your custom mold making needs.
- Approximate cycle time: 20 seconds
- 360 face shields/hour
- 8640 face shields/day
- 60480 face shields/week​
